Sometime near the start of the 21st Century, I stopped paying attention to all those studies that purport that women don't like working for other women.
It's not that I don't think that there are some horrid female bosses. I know there are. It's just that I don't think that the behaviors of male bosses have been as scrutinized or dissected. I think we tolerate a lot of bad male boss behavior that women don't get a pass on.
What we have here is a self-fulling prophecy. Women have been set up to anticipate that their female boss will be jealous/catty/un-supportive/a frenemy/competitive/mean/backstabbing/ add your unattractive female characteristic.
Tell someone often enough that a situation is going to happen a certain way and that's how the person perceives the experience.
